WARNING
The distance between the FDS and fuel source must not be greater than 50 feet. Failure
to comply may result in injury to personnel.
The distance between the FDS and equipment being fueled must not be greater than 25 feet.
Failure to comply may result in injury to personnel.
Site selection criteria should include a relatively lat area of at least 10 feet by 16 feet to accommodate the spill
containment system.
CAUTION
The area must be free of any sharp objects that can puncture the spill containment system
loor. Failure to comply may result in damage to equipment and the environment.
For optimal fuel low, the FDS, fuel source and receiving equipment should all be located at relatively the same
elevation, with the fuel source at a slightly lower elevation than the FDS, and the equipment receiving fuel at a
level higher than the fuel source. Keep suction and discharge hose runs as straight as possible to minimize
friction losses. Flow rates will decrease as elevation differences increase. The fuel source should be located as
close as practical to the FDS.
END OF TASK
ASSEMBLY AND PREPARATION FOR USE
If the FDS has been in long-term storage (over six months), perform operator and ield PMCS prior to use (Refer to
Inspect the FDS to ensure all components are present. Refer to Figure 1 and components listed in WP 0002.
