EQUIPMENT CHARACTERISTICS, CAPABILITIES AND FEATURES
The Fuel Distribution System (FDS) provides diesel or JP-8 fuel support to the Army's Premier Base Camp and
Expeditionary Base Camp modules. The FDS is a portable, mobile system that operates in all expeditionary
environments. The FDS is moved manually within the base camp.
The FDS receives diesel or JP-8 fuel from a fuel source, ilters fuel and pumps it to a destination (e.g.,
diesel-operated generator, heater). The FDS interfaces are compatible with typical cam-locking fuel hose
connectors.
The FDS consists of a self-priming pump and motor, ilter cartridge, low meter, discharge hose, cargo container
electrical grounding cables and valves that transfer the fuel in and out of the system. All components are housed
on a FDS cart (Figure 1). The FDS cart has two tires for moving the FDS as needed.
