The pump must be allowed to cool if it is overheated. Failure to comply may result in damage
to equipment.
NOTE
Refer to Concepts and Equipment of Petroleum Operations (FM 10-67-1) for fuel spills and
other fuel handling information.
1.
Conduct a visual inspection of the FDS setup to ensure the system is properly assembled and ready to
pump fuel.
2.
Verify system grounding by checking that one ground cable is securely attached to the equipment being fueled
and the other ground cable is securely attached to a known good ground.
3.
At the fuel source, open the valve(s), allowing fuel to low.
4.
Loosen the hose reel brake wheel (Figure 12, Item 1) until the hose reel (Figure 12, Item 2), is able to rotate.

5.
Remove locking pin (Figure 13, Item 3) from the fuel nozzle locking plate (Figure 13, Item 1) and pivot plate
away from fuel nozzle housing (Figure 13, Item 4).
