FUEL DISTRIBUTION SYSTEM OPERATION
WARNING
When handling fuel, personnel must take appropriate measures to minimize the risk of
ire, explosion, injury, illness, and contamination of personnel and the environment. Safety
precautions for ire and spill control containment measures must be strictly observed. Failure to
follow this warning may result in injury or death to personnel.
Personnel must not touch hot surfaces caused by equipment operation or heating parts
for repair. Hot surfaces can cause serious burns. Failure to comply may result in injury to
personnel.
The pump must be allowed to cool if it is overheated. Failure to comply may result in injury or
death to personnel.
The FDS must only use diesel or JP-8 fuel. Gasoline must NOT run through the system. Failure
to follow this warning may result in injury or death to personnel.
Chemical/Oil protective gloves and a rubber apron must be worn by personnel handling fuel.
Failure to comply may result in injury to personnel.
CAUTION
The FDS should not operate with the fuel nozzle at a level lower than the fuel source. A
siphoning action could result. Failure to comply may cause damage to the pump.
