Place two preformed bands (Figure 2, Item 1) on hose (Figure 2, Item 2).

Lubricate the itting shank and hose interior with JP-8, diesel fuel, or motor oil.
5.
Insert the itting shank fully into the hose.
6.
Position the tool over the band tail (Figure 3, Item 2), with the band tail in the tool slot (Figure 3, Item 1).
