FDS Static Charge Dissipation
The low of petroleum through hoses and pumps produces static electricity. Moving equipment can cause static
electrical buildup on the equipment. Sparks produced by static electric discharge can ignite fuel vapors. The FDS
contains two ground cables to dissipate (ground) any static charges. One cable bonds to the equipment being
fueled to the FDS. The other cable bonds the FDS to a known good ground point (e.g., a ground rod), effectively
grounding both the FDS and the equipment being fueled to the ground.
