c. TEST
NOTE
Coupling damage is usually caused by worn, damaged, or improperly installed
packing ring.
1.
Install new packing ring (2) on coupling (1) to stop leaks.
2.
Connect air brake hose couplings from prime mover to semitrailer. Apply brakes and coat hose couplings,
connectors, and fittings of emergency and service lines with soap and water solution. Check for leaks.
3.
Check air lines and fittings for restrictions caused by dents or kinks. Replace damaged air lines (para 2-57).
FOLLOW-ON MAINTENANCE:
• Disconnect ground (refer to TM 9-2330-398-10).
