TM    55-2915-335-30&P Table 2-2. Maintenance Troubleshooting - Continued MALFUNCTION TEST  OR  INSPECTION CORRECTIVE  ACTION 2. MOTOR FAILS TO START, HIGH CURRENT DRAW Step 1. Check for jammed motor or impeller. Remove   pump   cartridge   from   housing (paragraph 2-10). Try to rotate impeller by hand to check for motor jamming. Motor ar- mature should turn with the impeller. If rota- tion is smooth, proceed to Step 2. If motor is jammed or does not rotate smoothly, broken pieces from the field tube magnets may be lodged between the ar- mature and field tube. Disas- semble armature, field tube, and impeller per the instruc- tions   and   illustrations   in paragraphs   2-18   and   2-19. Check for debris and defects as shown. Replace parts, if defec- tive. If   motor   does   not   rotate smoothly,  bearings  may  be damaged. Inspect and replace motor  bearings  per  instructions and illustrations in paragraphs 2-16 and 2-22. 2-9
