Fault Isolation NOTE If checking fuel pump with cartridge installed, do not remove cartridge; proceed to Block 4. l Check pump cartridge for jammed motor or stripped impeller. l Manually   rotate   impeller   counterclock- wise. Does  impeller  and  armature  turn? If jammed, proceed to Malfunction Number 2, Step 1 of Table 2-2. Running motor over one minute without a flow of liquid may cause permanent damage to the motor. NOTE Motor circuit may be checked with cartridge in or out of housing. l Check motor circuit. l Lay pump on its side on workbench. l Connect  pump  to  28  ±0.2  VDC  power supply. Black lead is positive. l Turn  pump  power  ON.  Bring  voltage  up to 28 VDC. Does  motor  run? If impeller spins on armature shaft, proceed to Malfunction  Number  3,  Step  3  of  Table  2-2. Check current draw at ammeter: If  current  draw  is  0  amps,  proceed  to  Mal- function Number 1 of Table 2-2. If current draw is over 6 amps, proceed to Mal- function Number 2 of Table 2-2. If   current   draw   is   between   0   and   6   amps, proceed to Malfunction Number 5 of Table 2-2. Does motor run smoothly? Proceed to Malfunction Number 7 of Table 2-2. To block 8 2-3
