EXPLANATION OF COLUMNS IN THE MAC, SECTION II.
a.
Column 1.
Group Number.
Column 1 lists functional group code numbers,
the purpose of which is to identify maintenance significant components,
assemblies,
subassemblies,
and modules with the next higher assembly.
End item group number shall be 00.

Component/Assembly.
Column 2 contains the names of components
a s s e m b l e s,
subassemblies,
and
modules
f o r w h i c h m a i n t e n a n c e is
authorized.

Column 3.
Maintenance Function.
C o l u m n 3 l i s t s t h e f u n c t i o n s t o be
performed on the item listed in Column 2.

Column 4.
Maintenance Category. Column 4 specifies, by the listing of a
work time figure in the appropriate subcolumn(s), the category of main-
t e n a n c e a u t h o r i z e d t o p e r f o r m t h e f u n c t i o n l i s t e d i n C o l u m n 3.
This
figure represents the active time required to perform that maintenance
f u n c t i o n a t t h e i n d i c a t e d c a t e g o r y o f m a i n t e n a n c e.
If the number or
complexity of the tasks within the listed maintenance function vary at
different maintenance categories, appropriate work time figures will be
shown for each category.
The work time figure represents the average
t i m e r e q u i r e d t o r e s t o r e a n
item (assembly, subassembly, component,
module,
end item,
o r s y s t e m ) t o a s e r v i c e a b l e c o n d i t i o n u n d e r t y p i c al
f i e l d o p e r a t i n g c o n d i t i o n s.
T h i s t i m e i n c l u d e s p r e p a r a t i o n t i m e ( i n-
cluding any necessary disassembly/assembly time), troubleshooting/fault
location time, and quality assurance/quality control time in addition to
the time required to perform the specific tasks identified for the main-
tenance functions authorized in the maintenance allocation chart.

tion IV, Remarks, and explain the SRA complete repair application there.
