2-2. OPERATING PROCEDURE (Continued)
(1)
Remove pipe plug (1) from priming port (2).
(2)
Pour fuel into priming port (2) to fill volute (3).
CAUTION
If volute does not fill with liquid, check suction hose assembly and suction hose
connection at suction (intake) coupling for leaks. Be sure that suction hose end
or drum unloader is completely immersed in fuel.
NOTE
As fuel fills volute, air is removed through discharge coupling. As the air is
removed, fuel from the suction side of the pump is drawn into the volute and the
pump will then draw on its own.
(3)
Install pipe plug (1) in priming port (2) and tighten securely.
