4-12. REPLACE/REPAIR CRANKSHAFT ASSEMBLY (Continued)
REMOVAL:
CAUTION
Do not lay crankshaft on its side. Stand it on end to prevent warpage.

Using crankshaft seal puller No. 142700 (1),
remove shaft seal (2) from rear-end cover (3).
Discard the seal.

Remove bolts (4) and washers (5) that secure rear-
end cover (3) to engine crankcase (6) and pull the
cover and gasket (7) from the crankcase.
