2-45. REPLACE/REPAIR WHEEL BRAKES (Continued)
ADJUSTMENT:
1
Adjust brake assembly.
a.
Remove adjusting hole cover (1) from backing
plate (2).
b.
Use a small bladed screwdriver to rotate
adjusting wheel (3) downward until wheel cannot
be easily rotated.
c.
Use a small bladed screwdriver to rotate
adjusting wheel (3) upward. Rotate five teeth of
the adjusting wheel upward.
d.
Replace adjusting hole cover.
e.
Repeat steps a through d for second brake
assembly.

Remove jackstands.
a.
Position jack under frame near jackstand.
b.
Raise frame high enough to allow removal of
jackstand.
c.
Remove jackstand from under the frame.
d.
Lower and remove jack.
e.
Repeat steps a through d for second jackstand.

Adjust hand brake (1) by rotating hand brake
handle (2).
