5. How to Locate Repair Parts

a. W h e n F e d e r a l s t o c k n u m b e r o r r e f e r e n c e

n u m b e r is unknown:

(1) F i r s t . Using the table of contents,

determine the assembly group, i.e., engine, engine

assembly, t r a n s m i s s i o n , transmission assembly,

w i t h i n which the repair part belongs. This is

necessary since i l l u s t r a t i o n s are prepared for

assembly groups, and listings are divided into the

same groups.

(2) Second. Find the illustration covering the

assembly group to which the repair part belongs.
