TM   10-4930-238-12&P Table  2-2.  Operator’s  Engine  Controls  and  lndicators KEY 1 2 3 4 5 CONTROL  OR  INDICATOR AIR  FILTER  INDICATOR THROTTLE CONTROL HAND LEVER FUEL PRIMER LEVER EXTRA FUEL BUTTON DECOMPRESSION LEVER FUNCTION Indicates a dirty air filter element. A red band appears in window, which indicates element needs replacing. Air filter indicator must be reset after servicing the air filter. Controls engine speed. With the hand lever in START position, the engine is at highest operating speed. By moving the lever between START and STOP, the desired engine speed can be obtained. Mechanically  connected  to  fuel  lift  pump.  Used  to prime engine by forcing fuel from tank into fuel system. Provides more fuel to engine during starting. Pulling button out allows more fuel to engine. Button returns to normal position when engine reaches  operating  speed. Controls engine compression. Lever is placed in decompression position during engine starting and returns to compression when engine reaches operating  speed. 2-3
