General mechanic's tool kit (Item 4, Appendix B)
Semitrailer uncoupled (refer to TM 9-2330-3910).
Common No. 1 tool set (Item 1, Appendix B)
Semitrailer bonded and grounded (refer to
TM 9-2330-398-10).
Materials/Parts:
Negative battery cable disconnected (para 2-33).
Cap and plug set (Item 3, Appendix C)
Top air housing cover removed (pIa-26).
Fuel oil, diesel (Item 15, Appendix F)
Fuel injection Lines removed (paS21).
Lubricating oil (Item 20, Appendix C)
Intake manifold removed (if removing fuel Injector from
Rag (Item 25, Appendix C)
behind Intake manifold) (pare 2-108).
Gasket (Item 33, Appendix F)
Gasket (4) (Item 57, Appendix F)
Gasket (item 58, Appendix F)
a. REMOVAL
CAUTION
To prevent contamination, all fuel Injector openings and fuel injection nozzles must be capped when any
of the four fuel injectors is removed from engine.
NOTE
Removal of four fuel injectors is the same.
One is shown.
1.
Remove two screws (3) and washers (4) and
retaining flange (5) from cylinder head (1).
2.
Remove fuel injector (6) from cylinder head (1).
3.
Remove gasket (2) from cylinder head (1).
Discard gasket.
