Initial Setup:
Equipment Conditions:
Materials/Parts:
• Tank purged (para 4-64).
• One gasket (discharge and intake valves)
Tools/Test Equipment:
• Two gaskets (cutoff valve)
• General mechanic’s tool kit
• Eight Iockwashers (discharge and intake valves)

DISCHARGE AND INTAKE VALVES REPLACEMENT
NOTE
Gravity and pump discharge valves and pump Intake valve are replaced the same way.
Gravity discharge valve is Illustrated.
1.
Remove eight nuts (5), Iockwashers (6), screws (1), washers (2), gravity discharge valve (4), and gasket (3) from
manifold (7). Discard Iockwashers and gasket.
2.
Install new gasket (3) and gravity discharge valve (4) on manifold (7) with eight washers (2), screws (1), new
Iockwashers (6), and nuts (5).
