Materials/Parts:
l Spare wheel and tire removed (para 4-43).
l Dry cleaning solvent (Item 16, Appendix E)
l One cotter pin
Tools/Test Equipment:
l Four locknuts
l Four Iockwashers
l General mechanic’s tool kit
l Common no. 1 shop set
Personnel Required: Two
Remove four locknuts (3), screws (1), and spare wheel and tire carrier (4) from frame (2). Discard locknuts.
b.
DISASSEMBLY
1.
Remove four nuts (11), Iockwashers (10), two U-bolts (9), and wire rope (7) from retainer plate (8). Discard
Iockwashers.
