TM   9-2330-272-14 4-44.   HUB,   WHEEL   BEARING,   AND   BRAKEDRUM 2. 3. MAINTENANCE    (Con’t). Remove six bolts (1), Iockwashers (2), access cover (3), and gasket (4) from hub (10). Discard Iockwashers and gasket. Unbend tabs of keywasher (6). Remove outer nut (5), keywasher, and inner adjusting nut (7) from hub (10) and axle  (16). 4. Pull hub (10) out slightly on axle (16) from hub and axle. DO NOT handle brakeshoes, to loosen outer wheel bearing cone (8) Remove outer wheel bearing cone WARNING brakedrums, or other brake components unless area has been properly cleaned. There may be asbestos dust on these-components which can be dangerous if you touch it or breathe it. Wear an approved filter mask and gloves. Never use compressed air or a dry brush to clean brake components. Dust may be removed using an industrial-type vacuum cleaner. Clean dust or mud away from brake components with water and a wet, soft brush or cloth. Failure to follow this warning may result In serious illness or death to personnel. 5. Remove hub (10) and brakedrum (11) from axle (16). TA702741 4-84
