3-12. FILLER/DISCHARGE ASSEMBLY (See Figure 3-3).
a.
Disassembly.
(1) Pull outward on cam lever arms and remove 90° elbow from flange
adapter.
(2) Remove gasket from inside 90° elbow.
(3) Remove hexagon head bolts and washers from closure plate.
(4) Remove closure plate from tank fitting.
(5) Remove O-ring from groove in tank fitting.
(6) Remove remaining hexagon head bolts and lockwashers from assembly.
Remove flange adapter and gasket from top of closure plate. Remove
suction stub from bottom of closure plate.

Repair and Replacement.
(1) Clean all parts by wiping with a cloth (Appendix F, Item 2).
(2) Inspect all parts for cracks, dents, or wear. Replace unserviceable
parts.

Reassembly.

Place suction stub on flat surface.
Ensure that ring is positioned
with holes facing up.
Insert thread seals in suction stub holes.
Place closure plate onto suction stub.
Place flange gasket on closure plate.
Place flange adapter on gasket.
Insert bolts through holes in flange adapter and mate bolts with
h o l e s i n c l o s u r e p l a t e a n d s u c t i o n s t u b .
Install lockwashers on
b o l t s .
Thread nuts on bolts and tighten.
Place O-ring into groove in tank fitting.
Place closure plate onto tank fitting.
Install washers on bolts.
Insert bolts through closure plate and
into tapped holes in tank fitting.
Tighten bolts (Refer to Appendix
G, Table G-1).

Pull cam
lever arms upward until they lock.
