PMCS Procedures.
The following information will aid in understanding
the PMCS procedures.
( 1 ) T a b l e 2 - 1,
Preventive Maintenance Checks and Services, lists in-
spections and procedures required to keep equipment in good oper-
ating condition.
(2) The interval column of the PMCS table states when to perform a
certain check or service.
( 3 ) S o m e c h e c k s a n d s e r v i c e s c a n n o t b e p e r f o r m e d w i t h f u e l i n t he
tank.
P e r f o r m a s m a n y c h e c k s a n d s e r v i c e s a s p o s s i b l e w i t h o ut
disturbing fuel storage operation.
(4) The procedure column of the PMCS states how to perform the required
checks and services.
C a r e f u l l y f o l l o w t h e s e i n s t r u c t i o n s.
Unit
maintenance performs the work when the procedure specifies or when
required tools are not available.
(5) If equipment does not perform as required, Unit Maintenance must
perform Chapter 3 Troubleshooting Procedures to correct the problem.
Report malfunctions or failures using DA Form 2404.
(6) Equipment Is Not Ready/Available If: column describes conditions
under which equipment cannot be used.
NOTE
The terms Ready/Available and Mission Capable refer to the
same status:
Equipment is on hand and is able to perform
its combat mission.
