CHAPTER 5.  PREPARATION FOR RESHIPMENT AND STORAGE 5-1. REMOVING TANK FROM SERVICE.  Prior to reshipment and storage, the 5000 Barrel Collapsible Fuel Tank will be emptied and refolded. WARNING Fuels are hazardous flammable liquids. Do not smoke or bring open flame within 100 feet (30.48 meters) of the tank. If fuels spills on or around a tank or within the diked area, shut down any nearby engine-driven equipment. Do not resume operation until it has been determined that the vapor concentrations are below the explosive range. If fuel spills onto clothing, remove clothing before entering area with engine-driven equipment or area where smoking is permitted. Fuels and fuel sledge can cause injury to skin or eyes. If fuel or sludge comes into contact with skin, flush skin with soap and water.  If fuel or sludge comes into contact with eyes, flush eyes with water.  For further information on first aid, refer to FM 21-11. Fumes from stored fuels are hazardous. Do not carry or store anything edible near tank.  Food will absorb vapors.  After leaving area, wash before eating or smoking. a. Empty tank.  Refer to draining procedure in paragraph 3-5 of this manual. 5-1
