MALFUNCTION

CORRECTIVE ACTION
Step 3.
Check suction hoses, connections, or parting surface of suction flange for leaks. Check pipe plugs
are not leaking.
Step 4.
Check that pump has been properly primed.
If necessary, prime the pump (para 2-2.b.).
Step 5.
Inspect check valve assembly for proper operation. Perform the checks and services of table 3-1,
item 15. Replace check valve assembly (para 3-19).
Step 6.
Notify intermediate maintenance.
7.
PUMP OUTPUT LOW
Step 1.
Check that engine speed is properly adjusted.
Adjust throttle lever to increase engine speed (para 2-2.d.).
Step 2.
See Malfunction 6, steps 1 thru 5.
8.
LACK OF POWER
Step 1.
Check for low engine speed. Adjust throttle lever to increase engine speed.
WARNING
Death or serious injury could occur if fuel is not handled carefully. Use in a well-ventilated area
away from open flame, arcing equipment, ignition sources, heaters, or excessive heat. Engines
must be turned off and cool before refueling. Use proper refueling procedures and equipment to
avoid spillage. Do not run engines near open fuel containers. Always store fuel in proper, marked
containers. DO NOT SMOKE.
Step 2.
Check for insufficient fuel supply. Fill fuel tank.
