Step 2. Check for binding wheels.
If no grease is present, replace the seal, tapered roller bearings, dust cap, hub and brake drum
assembly, and axle, if necessary (para 2-48). If grease is present, check for excessive bearing
binding.
Step 3. Check for damaged or broken brake hoses or tubing.
Repair damaged hoses or tubing (para 2-45).
12. LIGHTS DO NOT WORK
Step 1. Check bulbs in stop taillights and marker lights.
Replace defective bulb (para 2-39).
Step 2. Inspect trailer wiring harness for broken wires, deteriorating insulation, or broken contacts. Inspect
intervehicular connector for missing contact pins.
If necessary, repair or replace trailer wiring harness (para 2-40).
