2-7. OPERATION IN EXTREME HEAT
The engine of the centrifugal pump unit is air cooled. Heat can be removed from an engine in three
ways: engine exhaust, engine oil, and the passage of air across and through cylinder cooling fins. There-
fore, when operating in high ambient temperatures, observe the following:
a. With engine stopped, inspect frequently to
of dirt that inhibits cooling.
