SHORT TERM STORAGE (30 days or less) (Continued)
Remove suction hose from hose adapter (3) (intake).
Remove discharge hose from hose adapter (4) (discharge).
Remove pipe plug (1) and drain pump case (2). Replace pipe plug (1).
Clean intake and discharge port threads using a wet cloth.
Cover intake and discharge hose adapters.
Seal all engine openings with moistureproof, vaporproof tape, strong enough to resist puncture
and damage from the expansion of entrapped air.
INTERMEDIATE TERM STORAGE (more than 30 days)
Connect centrifugal pump to a water supply. Prime pump, start engine, and allow to operate
for 10 to 12 minutes or until normal operating temperature is reached. Shut down engine.
Drain crankcase oil. Then fill crankcase to proper level using MIL-L-21260 preservative
lubricating oil, Grade 2, or equivalent.
