1-1. SCOPE.
This manual covers the use of the Petroleum Test Kit, PTK-100, in testing aviation fuel for contamination.
1-2. MAINTENANCE FORMS, RECORDS, AND REPORTS.
a.
Reports of Maintenance and Unsatisfactory Equipment. Department of the Army forms and procedures used for
equipment maintenance will be those prescribed by DA PAM 738-750, as contained in Maintenance
Management Update. Marine Corps personnel will refer to TM 4700-15/1 for equipment records and forms
procedures.
b.
Report of Packaging and Handling Deficiencies. Fill out and forward SF 364 [Report of Discrepancy ROD)] as
prescribed in AR 735-11/MCO 4430.3J.
c.
Discrepancy in Shipment Report (DISREP) (SF 361). Fill out and forward Discrepancy in Shipment Report
(DISREP) (SF 361) as prescribed in AR 55-38/MCO P4610.19D.
1-3. DESTRUCTION OF ARMY MATERIEL TO PREVENT ENEMY USE.
Methods and/or procedures for the destruction of Army materiel to prevent enemy use are covered in TM 750-244-3.
1-4. CORROSION PREVENTION AND CONTROL
a.
Corrosion Prevention and Control (CPC) of Army Materiel is a continuing concern. It is important that any
corrosion problems with this item be reported so that the problem can be corrected and improvements can be
made to prevent the problem in future items.
b.
While corrosion is typically associated with rusting of metals, it can also include deterioration of other materials,
such as rubber and plastic. Unusual cracking, softening, swelling or breaking of the materials may be a corrosion
problem.
