SECTION II. EQUIPMENT DESCRIPTION
1.10 EQUIPMENT CHARACTERISTICS, CAPABILITIES, AND FEATURES. Characteristics, capabilities, and features of
the pumping assembly include:
Convenient package consisting of three portable subunits: a self-contained pump unit, storage chest 1, and
storage chest 2 (chests contain all required pump accessories). Each subunit incorporates securely attached and
comfortable handholds. Each subunit is designed to be lifted by four soldiers.
Pump unit rated at 50 GPM at 100 feet of head.
Easily accessible and visible pumping assembly controls and indicators.
Hinged access door on pump unit sound enclosure cover allows access to internal components.
Extreme cold weather operation of the pumping assembly.
Pump unit engine oil electrical immersion heater.
Pump unit intake air electrical heater.
Pump unit intervehicular electrical connector for external electrical power.
Variable speed pump unit operation.
Frame-mounted.
Self-priming.
Pump unit has an externally accessible engine recoil starter.
Pump and engine are shock mounted on pump unit frame to reduce vibration and noise.
Engine is muffled to reduce noise level.
Pump suction and discharge fittings have dust plugs to prevent contamination when pump is not in use.
All hose assemblies and fittings have dust plugs to prevent contamination when pump is not in use.
