5.4 TROUBLESHOOTING.
Use the malfunction index to locate specific troubleshooting procedures contained
in table 5-1.
After locating the listed malfunction, perform the test/inspections
and corrective actions in the order listed in table 5-1.
The malfunction index and
Table 5-1 cannot list all the malfunctions that may occur, all the test and
inspections needed to find the fault, or all the corrective actions needed to
c o r r e c t t h e f a u l t.
If the equipment malfunction is not listed or actions listed do
not correct the fault, notify your supervisor.

Remove Idler Pulley and inspect fuel injection timing gear for
slippage.
