TM 10-4320-324-14 5-24.  Pump Assembly Repair (CONT). c. Cleaning/Inspection. WARNING Dry cleaning solvent P-D-680 is toxic and flammable.  Wear protective goggles and gloves and use only in a well ventilated area.  Avoid contact with skin, eyes, and clothes and don't breathe vapor.  Do not use near open flame or excessive heat.  The flash point is 100F-138F (38-50C).  If you become dizzy while using cleaning solvent, get fresh air immediately and get medical aid.  If contact with eyes is made, wash your eyes with water and get medical aid immediately. If  personnel  become  dizzy  while  using  cleaning  solvent,  immediately  get  fresh  air  and  medical  help.    If solvent  contacts  skin  or  clothes,  flush  with  cold  water.    If  solvent  contacts  eyes,  immediately  flush  eyes with water and get immediate medical attention. (1) Clean all parts and assembled units with dry cleaning solvent P-D-680. (2) Wrap all internal components such as bearings and seals in a clean lint free cloth after cleaning. (3) Inspect bearings.  If rough, gritty, or loose replace bearings. (4) Inspect shaft for deformation  of  bearing  journals  or  other  evidence  of  damage.    Replace  shaft  only  if bearings   have   seized   causing   deformation   of   bearing   journals   or   if   shaft   is   damaged   though mishandling. (5) Inspect impeller vane tip for slight deformation which may have occurred from use of steel bar during removal.  If so, use a file to remove burrs.  Ensure that no filings fall into impeller. 5-84
