(1) Install     new     packing     (1),     metal     surface     down, compression  gauge  adapter  (2)  and  nozzle  retainer (3). (2) Thread   nut   (4)   on   to   cylinder   head   (5)   stud   and tighten. (3) Attach compression gauge (6) to compression gauge adapter (2).  Ensure all connections are tight. (4) Place RUN switch to ON, then depress  oil  pressure by-pass switch and start switch at same time.  Hold for about three seconds. (5) Record   reading   on   compression   gauge.      Reading should   be   between   290-406   psi   (20-28   bar).      If compression   reading   is   low,   refer   to   Table   5-1, Troubleshooting. (6) Release start switch and oil pressure by-pass switch, then place RUN switch to OFF. (7) Remove  compression  gauge  (6)  from  compression gauge adapter (2). 5-46
