Removal.
WARNING
Remove rings, bracelets, wristwatches, neck chains, and any other jewelry before working around vehicle.
Jewelry can catch on equipment and cause injury, or may short across an electrical circuit and cause severe
burns or electrical shock.
Be careful not to short out battery terminals. Do not smoke or use open flame near batteries. Batteries may
explode from a spark. Battery acid is harmful to skin and eyes.
(1) Remove two wing nuts (1), two flat washers (2), strap (3), and two covers (4).
(2) If damaged, remove two cotter pins (5), two straight pins (6), and two bolts (7).
CAUTION
Remove negative (-) battery cable first to prevent possible electrical arc. Failure to comply may result in damage to
batteries and/or cables.
(3) Loosen four battery terminals (8) and remove two cables.
(4) Remove two batteries (9).
(5) Remove eight nuts (10), eight lockwashers (11), eight flat washers (12), and eight screws (13).
(6) Remove two boxes (14).
