Visually inspect wire for loose ring terminals, loose connections at alternator posts (3), corrosion at ring terminals or alternator posts, burn marks at connections (arcing), damaged insulation, burned or melted insulation (overheating), and frayed or worn spiral wrap tubing. Visually inspect alternator bearing support (4) for cracks or dis- coloration due to overheating. Visually inspect voltage regulator (5) for looseness. 2-55
