Lockwasher (Item 95, Appendix F)
•
Throttle cable at engine removed

Lockwasher (Item 96, Appendix F)
(if removing rear cylinder housing) (para 3-23).
•
Lockwasher (2) (Item 116, Appendix F)
•
Governor linkage assembly removed (if removing
•
Self-locking nut (5) (Item 172, Appendix F)
bottom cylinder pan) (para 3-24).

Self-locking nut (4) (Item 177, Appendix F)

Engine fuel lines disconnected (if removing bottom
cylinder pan) (para 2-98).
Equipment Conditions:

Engine throttle and choke linkage removed (para 3-23).

Semi-trailer uncoupled (refer to TM 9-2330-398-10).

Muffler and exhaust pipe removed (para 2-99).
•
Air cleaner hose disconnected at intake
manifold (para 2-96).

TOP AIR HOUSING COVER REMOVAL
1.
Remove five screws (1), washers (11), and self-
locking nuts (10) and muffler tray (9) from two
supports (2 and 3). Discard self-locking nuts.
