Draining (M131A5C) Initial Setup: Materials/Parts: Tools/Test Equipment: s Rags (Item 14, Appendix E) l General mechanic’s tool kit l One gasket (all except M131A5C) l Common no. 1 shop set NOTE A drain pan should be used to catch any draining fuel. Ensure that all spills are cleaned up. a. DRAINING (ALL EXCEPT M131A5C) 1. 2. 3. 4. 5. 6. Close auxiliary engine sediment strainer shutoff cock (2). Loosen  thumbscrew  (7)  and  remove  bowl  (5), gasket  (4),  and  bail  (6)  from  strainer  head  (3). Discard  gasket. Open auxiliary engine sediment strainer shutoff cock (2) and allow all fuel to drain from fuel tank (1). When fuel tank (1) is completely drained, close auxiliary  engine  sediment  strainer  shutoff  cock (2). Position bail (6), new gasket (4), and bowl (5) on strainer head (3) and tighten thumbscrew (7). Open auxiliary engine sediment strainer shutoff cock (2). 4-152
