TM  55-2915-335-30&P 2-18.  ARMATURE  AND  FIELD  TUBE  ASSEMBLY  -  lNSPECT/REPLACE  (Cont) 2-18 Do not dig into resin which bonds com- mutator  sections  together.  Removal  of resin may cause permanent damage to armature. (1) (2) (3) Use soft wire probe, such as a paper clip, to scrape   between   commutator   sections. Remove only soft debris. Do not dig into hard resin core. Wash  armature  with  dry  cleaning  solvent (Item 7, Appendix C) and nonwoven cloth (Item 1, Appendix C). Use soft bristled brush to scrub armature, if needed. Dry armature with compressed air at 30 psi (207 kPa) max- imum. Dark  areas  may  be  seen  on  commutator  sec- tions. To remove, polish commutators with 600 grit, wet or dry emery paper. b. Clean Field Tube (1) (2) Scrub inside of field tube with soft bristle brush and solvent. Remove all sludge or deposits from around magnets. Wipe clean with nonwoven cloth dipped in solvent. Dry with compressed air, 30 psi (207 kPa)  maximum. GO TO NEXT PAGE 2-58
