The   tank   is   filled   by   connecting   a   hose   line from   a   shipping   tanker   or   other   fuel   source   to   the   3   inch   gate   valve.   The manually   operated   gate   valve   controls   the   flow   of   fuel. Fuel   is   discharged by   connecting   a h o s e    f r o m    t h e    3    i n c h    g a t e    v a l v e    t o    t h e    c o n t a i n e r    b e i ng fueled. CONTROLS  AND  INSTRUMENTS. a. b. c . Vent   and   Pipe   Assembly. The   vent   and   pipe   assembly   is   installed   on  a flanqe   adapter    located at   the   top   center   of   the   tank   envelope. A   re- lief-valve-opens   when   the   fuel   internal   pressure   reaches   a   range   from   1 to   3   psi   to   remove   vapors   accumulated   during   normal   fuel   storage. Drain  Valve. The   drain   valve   is   a   hand   operated   valve.   When   open,   it allows fuel   to   drain   from   the   tank. When   closed,   it   blocks   the   flow   of f u e l. Three   Inch   Gate   Valve. The   3   inch   gate   valve   is   connected   to   the   hose coming from  the  filler / d i s c h a r g e     e l b o w . When   open, t h e    v a l v e    a l l o ws fuel to flow to or from the tank. When   closed,   the   valve   stops   the flow   of   fuel. 1-9   (1-10   blank)
