TM  5-4930-237-10 Table  3-1.  Troubleshooting  -  Continued Malfunction Test  or  Inspection Corrective   Action ADAPTERS  -VALVED 1. FLOW HANDLE FAILS TO OPERATE SMOOTHLY. Step  1. Inspect  FLOW  handle  area  for  signs  of  dirt  or  other  foreign  matter. Clean  area  around  FLOW  handle. Step  2. Remove  dust  cap  and  inspect  interior  for  dirt  or  other  foreign  matter. Rinse  in  clean  fuel  while  operating  FLOW  handle.  If  parts  are  missing  or  damaged,  replace adapter. 2.  LEAKAGE  FROM  END. Step  1. Disconnect  adapter  from  2  inch  discharge  hose  (11).  Inspect  inside  for  dust  seal. Inspect  dust  seal  for  cuts,  tears,  or  distortion. If dust seal is missing or damaged, install new dust seal. Step  2. Inspect  boot  for  cuts,  tears,  or  distortion. If  hoot  is  missing  or  damaged,  replace  adapter. 3.  SEXLESS  COMPONENTS  WILL  NOT  LOCK  TOGETHER  (FLOW  HANDLE  IN  OPEN  POSITION). Disconnect  parts.  Check  interlock  pin(s)  for  damage,  distortion,  or  missing  parts. If  interlock  pin  is  damaged  or  missing  parts,  replace  adapter. 4.  DUST  CAP  DAMAGED  OR  MISSING. Inspect dust cap for cracks or distortion. If  dust  cap  is  missing  or  damaged,  replace  adapter. Change 5    3-7
