Installation INITIAL SETUP Tools Materials/Parts Shop set, automotive repair, Diesel fuel oil (Item 2, Appendix E) field maintenance, basic Equipment Condition Auxiliary bush, timing cover oil seal Para Condition Description (30 x 47 mm) 666 075 00 3-26 Lift pump removed. Extractor, cam follower spindle 4-15 Injection pump removed 666 324 00 4-16 Crank handle and gears re- Mounting device, camshaft needle bearing moved. 666 418 00 5-3 Connecting rod removed from Punch, camshaft needle bearing engine. 666 425 00 General Safety Instructions Well-ventilated area required. REMOVAL: CAUTION Lift both cam followers from camshaft when removing timing cover to prevent bending by cam points. 1  Remove six screws (1) and joints (2) and remove timing cover (3) and camshaft (13). NOTE Insertion of Allen screws in timing cover holes may aid in removal of timing cover. 2  Matchmark two teeth of camshaft gear and one tooth of crankshaft gear to make sure of proper alignment of gearing when reinstalling timing cover. 5-10
