TM 5-4320-305-24 2-8.  INSPECTING AND SERVICING BATTERIES (Continued) CAUTION Be sure that during installation the batteries are installed and connected in parallel.  If batteries are not connected in parallel, damage to starter and controls may occur. NOTE Refer to battery circuit plate mounted on inside top of battery box when connecting battery cable assemblies. k.    Connect  positive  battery  cable  assembly  (7)  to positive (+) terminal lug (4).  Tighten screw (8) and nut (9) securely. l.    Connect  negative  battery  cable  assembly  (10)  to negative  (-)  terminal  lug  (5).    Tighten  screw  (11  )  and  nut (12) securely. m.      Connect   cable   jumper   (13)   to   positive   and negative terminals (4 and 5) as shown. n.      Lightly   coat   battery   posts   (14   and   15)   and terminals (4 and 5) with MIL-G-10924 grease. o.    After  placing  batteries  (2)  into  battery  box  (1), close   battery   box   top   (3).      Be   sure   catches   (16)   are securely fastened over strikes (17). 2-10
