TM 5-4320-305-24 2-45.  REPLACE/REPAIR WHEEL BRAKES (Continued) 14 Pry grease cup (1) from axle (2). 15 Remove cotter pin (3) from axle (2). 16 Remove axle nut (4), lockwasher (5), tapered roller bearing (6), hub and drum (7). 17 If brakes have failed, brake shoes may prevent removal of hub and drum (7).  In this case, remove adjusting hole cover (8) from the rear of backing plate (9).  Back off shoes with adjusting screw located behind the cover.  Use a small bladed screwdriver to rotate the wheel up until shoes release hub and drum (7).  Remove hub and drum. 18 Remove second tapered roller bearing (10) and grease seal (11) from axle (2). 2-173
