TM 5-4320-305-24 2-39.  REPLACE/REPAIR TAILLIGHTS AND CLEARANCE LIGHTS (Continued) INSPECTION/REPAIR: 1  Inspect taillights and clearance lights for rust, dents, or other exterior damage.  Replace damaged light. 2  Inspect bulbs for broken filaments, corroded bases, broken or discolored envelopes.  Replace damaged bulbs. 3  Inspect connecting wires for breaks or deteriorated insulation.  Replace if necessary. 4  Inspect lenses for cracks or brittleness.  Replace if necessary. 5  Check that reflectors are securely in place and not damaged.  Replace broken reflector. INSTALLATION: 1  Install two bulbs (13) in each clearance light (14). 2  Position clearance lights (14) on trailer frame (7) and install screw (15), lockwasher (16), and nut (17). 3  Install lens (12) on clearance light (14) with two mounting screws (11). 4  Connect clearance light wires (18) to trailer wiring harness (9) at connectors (10). 5    Position  taillight  (4)  on  outside  of  frame  assembly  and  install  nuts  (5)  and  lockwashers  (6)  from  inside  of  frame assembly (7). 6  Install bulbs (3) in taillights (4). 7  Install lens (1) on taillight (4) with mounting screws (2). 8  Connect taillight wires (8) to trailer wiring harness (9) at connectors (10). WARNING Death or serious injury could occur if diesel fuel oil is not handled carefully.    Use  in  a  well-ventilated  area  away  from  open  flame, arcing   equipment,   ignition   sources,   heaters,   or   excessive   heat. Always store fuel in proper, marked containers.  DO NOT SMOKE. 9  Clean trailer frame mounting surface with diesel fuel oil and install reflectors (20) with sealing compound. 2-147
