Check the battery voltage.  After switching on the control panel, observe BATTERY VOLTMETER (1) reading.  The reading should be in the green. Check the recharging rate during operation.  Notice the amount of time ALTERNATOR light (2) remains lighted after the engine has started.  If the light is on continuously or intermittently during operation, the battery system is not recharging or holding a charge properly. 2-38
