Organizational Maintenance Troubleshooting - Continued MALFUNCTION TEST   OR   INSPECTION CORRECTIVE   ACTION b.    If by fuel  does  not  flow  from  hose,  remove shaking  for  free  movement  of  internal non-return  valve.  Check  valve valve ball. c.  If  necessary,  clean  with  fuel.  If  unserviceable,  replace  non-return  valve (para  4-17). 3.   ENGINE   RUNS   UNSTEADILY   AND   POWER   OUTPUT   IS   LOW Step 1. Check  window  of  air  cleaner  restriction  indicator  for  red  band  indicating blocked  air  cleaner. If  red  band  appears  in  window  of  air  cleaner  restriction  indicator  and  rain hood  is  not  blocked  and  no  damage  to  system  components  is  found,  re- place  air  filter  (para  3-4). Step 2. See  Malfunction  2,  step  4. Step 3. Notify   direct   support   maintenance. 4.   DENSE   SMOKE   FROM   EXHAUST   AFTER   WARMUP Step 1. Shut  down  engine.  With  engine  level,  check  oil  level  (para  4-7.b.). Add  oil  if  necessary. Step 2. Check  window  of  air  cleaner  restriction  indicator  for  red  band  indicating blocked  air  cleaner. If  red  band  appears  in  window  of  air  cleaner  restriction  indicator  and  rain hood  is  not  blocked  and  no  damage  to  system  components  is  found,  re- place  air  filter  (para  3-4).
