APPENDIX A TM 07661B-14/1 Table A 3-1.  Preventative Maintenance Services FREQUENCY MAINTENANCE CHECK CRITERIA Bi-Annually Annually X HIGH PRESSURE LEAK TEST. 1.  Close all AFFF and dry chemical system shutoff valves. 2.  Open Nitrogen cylinder valves. 3.  Check all fittings, connections and hoses, from nitrogen cylinders to pressure regulators, for  leaks.  Use soap No evidence of leaks solution. for five minutes. X Check pressure relief valves for obstructions. X Remove fill caps and check that pressure relief holes in fill collars are free of obstructions. X Examine fill cap gaskets for elasticity, clean and coat lightly with a good Replace gaskets if grade of heat resistant brittle, cut, cracked grease. or deformed. X Inspect threads in fill caps and on fill openings for nicks, cross-thread- ing and rough edges. X Using soap and water, thoroughly clean the equipment to remove all traces of dirt and chemicals. X Check for signs of cor- rosion or other physical damage.  If necessary, scrape and repaint the unit. A 3-3 APPENDIX A TM 07661B-14/1
