(Model HTARS101) Install preformed packing (5, figure 5-1) on body (6).

(Model HTARS101) Push regulator (4) into body (6).

(Model HTARS101) Install 39 balls (3) in body (6). Turn regulator (4) back and forth on body to aid
installation of balls.

Testing.
NOTE
The D1 Nozzle must be fully assembled to perform both functional and leakage
tests. Refer to para 4-13 to assemble components of the nozzle.

Functional Test. Refer to figure 5-6.
NOTE
The flat portion of lever should be beneath the flat portion of ramp on nozzle collar.
This is the closed position and the handle should not turn.
(a)
Attempt to move lever (1) to the OPEN position. Lever must not move to OPEN
position.
(b)
Connect nozzle (2) to test adapter (3) (para 2-12b).
(c)
Rotate lever (1) to the OPEN position until it passes over center and stops against the internal stop.
(d)
Grab handles (4) and attempt to remove nozzle (2) from adapter (3). Nozzle should not disconnect.
(e)
Position lever (1) to CLOSE, then OPEN position. Repeat a minimum of five times. Lever should be
not bind or require excessive force to operate and must lock over-center in the CLOSED position.
(f)
Position lever (1) to CLOSED position, and disconnect nozzle (2) from adapter (3) (para 2-12b).
