TM 10-4320-342-10 Section IV.  OPERATION UNDER UNUSUAL CONDITIONS 12-10.  OPERATION IN EXTREME HEAT. CAUTION In  extreme  heat,  do  not  operate  200/600  GPM  Pump  or  damage  could  occur  to unit. Do not operate 200/600 GPM Pump if temperature is above 95°F (35°C). 2-11.  OPERATION IN SALT WATER AREAS. Operation  in  salt  water  areas  accelerates  corrosion  on  bare  metal  surfaces.    Observe  the  following  precautions  when operating 200/600 GPM Pump in this environment. CAUTION Do not rinse intake or exhaust areas; damage to equipment may occur. a. Position pump in a manner to minimize salt spray from entering air intake. CAUTION Do not rinse intake or exhaust areas; damage to equipment may occur. b. Following operation in salt water areas, rinse components with clean fresh water to remove salt spray and/or salt deposits. 2-12.  OPERATION IN DUSTY AREAS. Shutdown 200/600 GPM Pump during dust storms and cover or store unit in shelter. 2-13.  EMERGENCY PROCEDURES. a. Push Master Switch to shutdown 200/600 GPM Pump. b. Close all valves. 2-14.  DECONTAMINATION PROCEDURES. a. General. The following emergency procedures can be performed until field NBC DECON facilities are available.  Refer to FM 3-3, FM 3-4, FM 3-5. 2-50
