TM 10-4320-324-14 3-2.  Introduction (CONT). b.  This manual cannot list all malfunctions that may occur, nor all tests or inspections and corrective actions.  If a malfunction is not listed or is not corrected by listed corrective actions, notify your supervisor. 3-3.  Troubleshooting Table. Table 3-1 contains troubleshooting information for the pumping assembly and components. Table 3-1.  Troubleshooting MALFUNCTION TEST OR INSPECTION CORRECTIVE ACTION ENGINE 1. ENGINE WILL NOT CRANK. Step 1.  Inspect electrolyte in batteries. Refer to paragraph 3-6 and, if fluid is low, refill with water. Notify unit maintenance. Step 2.  Check for loose or corroded connections at battery and starter. Notify unit maintenance. Step 3.  Check for broken or frayed cables at battery and starter. Notify unit maintenance. Step 4.  Check for broken or frayed wires between alternator and voltage regulator. Notify unit maintenance. Step 5.  Visually inspect wiring harness for corroded or dirty connections, broken, frayed, or damaged wires. Notify unit maintenance. Step 6.  Check V-belt tension. Notify unit maintenance. Step 7.  Inspect for proper starter operation. Notify unit maintenance. 3-2
