Cleaning/Inspection.
(1) Inspect muffler for holes or cracks.
(2) Inspect muffler support for thread bareness or other damage.
(3) Replace all parts failing inspection.

Installation.
NOTE
If muffler support was not removed, skip step 1.
(1) Install muffler support (12) with two flat
washers (11), two screws (10), two
lockwashers (9), two flat washers (8), and
two nuts (7).
(2) Install muffler (6) with u-bolt (5), clamp base
(4), two nuts (3), and hose clamp (1).

Follow-on Maintenance.
(1) Install spark arrestor (para 4-26).
(2) Install air discharge compartment (para 4-
11).
