4-17. Valve Covers and Front Skirt Repair/Replacement (CONT).
(11) Remove retaining pin (40), anchor pin (41), and towbar (42).
(12) Remove ten self-locking nuts (43), 20 flat washers (44), ten screws (45), two front skirt retainers (46), and front
skirt (47).
(13) Remove four self-locking nuts (48), eight flat washers (49), four screws (50), two retainers (51), and two flaps
(52).
b.
Cleaning/Inspection.
(1) Inspect retainers for bends, cracks, or deformation. Replace if defective.
(2) Inspect front skirt and valve covers for holes, tears, or other obvious damage. Replace if defective.
c.
Installation.
(1) Install two flaps (52), two retainers (51), four screws (50), eight flat washers (49), and four self-locking nuts (48).
(2) Install front skirt (47) using two front skirt retainers (46), ten screws (45), 20 flat washers (44), and ten self-locking
nuts (43).
(3) Install towbar (42), anchor pin (41), and retaining pin (42).
